Merry Christmas from Briercrest
The Christmas season is a time of joy and reflection. Here at Briercrest, we have much to celebrate and be thankful for. This year has been filled with wonderful accomplishments and successes, thanks to the generous support of our alumni, students' families, community members, and other givers. Mostly we are grateful for the birth of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
President Michael Pawelke shares his thoughts on Christmas in an address to the supporters of Briercrest:
"We all love Christmas - Christmas light drives, hot chocolate and Christmas baking with family and friends, watching the excitement build in children, but most of all, and most important – gathering to worship! I know I am not alone in my love of singing Christmas carols and celebrating with Christmas pageantry, whether it’s the children’s Sunday School program or a full choir and orchestra lifting their voices and talents to the Lord…It stirs us all. And at the centre of all this energy and excitement is the simple, unvarnished, humble record of the birth of our Saviour, along with the first worshippers and the first evangelists: the Shepherds.
Yes, Jesus changed the world and he changed our lives by offering us forgiveness and restoring harmony with our God. And so, we worship. We bring our gifts, offer your thanks, sing our praises, and proclaim our testimonies – like the Shepherds worshipped like the angels worshipped. And the Saviour invites you to worship at Christmas and, of course, always with your life and your every breath.
On behalf of all of us at Briercrest, I want to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas."
