Friends of the Archibald Library

We invite you to join the Friends of the Archibald

Goals:

Promote the library as a place that fosters learning community through the sharing of literary and academic works created within the BCS learning community. We have a particular interest in seeing students have the opportunity to share creative work.

Support fundraising efforts to benefit the library endowment or other special projects of benefit to the Archibald Library.

Membership:

Membership is open to anyone interested in supporting the goals of the FOTA. Membership fees are $15 per year (July-June).

Members can participate in planning/organizing events or volunteer bees open to the public if they wish, or simply signal support of the FOTA goals by buying a membership. It's a great way for alumni to stay connected to the learning community here at BCS, so consider a membership even if you are an alumnus and/or living off-campus.

Membership Benefits:

Early access to library used book sales.

Input into and advance information about FOTA initiatives.

A copy of any FOTA publications (such as Archibald Review).

Events:

During the 2014-15 academic year we have a number of events planned, including reading nights and film with faculty nights.

Where does my $15 go?

Fees collected are used to support FOTA initiatives, such are covering any costs associated with our reading nights, and the production of Archibald Review. Funds remaining at the end of the year will be used to purchase learning resources for the library collection in the name of the friends. Typically the library would produce a list of potential items the library would otherwise be unable to purchase and each friends member would vote for the item(s) they wish to see the FOTA purchase for the library.

Contact Brad Doerksen or Matt Vanderkwaak if you would like to join or have any questions.
You can pay your membership in person at the library or by using our PayPal Account.
