Another $6,539 is on its way to Haiti.

Over the last three weeks, the staff and students of Briercrest College and Seminary and Caronport High School have joined together to raise a total of $6,539 for Compassion International’s relief efforts in Haiti.

The fundraiser, an initiative of Briercrest’s student government, included collections taken up around campus and during Justice Chapel January 28 and Day of Action January 29.

“I want to express my sincere gratitude for everyone who has participated in giving so generously—from faculty, staff, college, seminary and CHS students who have all supported the relief and restoration for the Haitian people,” wrote Anthony Henderson, Briercrest’s student body president. “Through our partnership with Compassion International, the people of Haiti will be helped a great deal, and on behalf of the entire student leadership teams, let me say THANK YOU.”

The donation will be matched by the Government of Canada.
