Men's volleyball drops rematch with Red Deer

On Saturday, November 5, 2016, the Briercrest College men’s volleyball team played against the Red Deer College men’s volleyball team. Both teams are extremely strong and powerful in playing their game. Not only are Briercrest and Red Deer strong in a desire to win.

During the first set, Briercrest and Red Deer, both, were strong with their serves and digs. Essentially, they stayed even throughout this set, however, Red Deer rapidly increased in their points, causing Briercrest to lose 25 to 19.

Continuing to the second set, both Red Deer and Briercrest, made amazing spikes. Specifically, the spikes made by Briercrest were powerful, and assisted them with increasing their points against Red Deer. They began to catch up to Red Deer, however, Red Deer continued to persist, and won 25 to 17.

Briercrest and Red Deer continued to be even throughout the third set, and the points went back and forth as they increased. Red Deer, however, rapidly increased their points in the middle of the set, causing Briercrest to fall far behind. Although Briercrest persisted with strong spikes and serves, and were able to catch up, they lost 20 to 25.

Overall, this Saturday afternoon game between Briercrest College and Red Deer College was a great game; even and fair. Red Deer won against Briercrest with a total of three games to none, resulting in only three sets being played.

Player of the Game for Briercrest was Mitch Erickson with a game high 12 kills. Calvin Sawatzky had a game high two services aces, Matt Ginter had a team high 25 assists, and Dalon Hordyk had a team high seven digs.
