The Briercrest Women's softball team's Sarah Richards was named a WCSA Second-Team All-Star at this past weekend's 2016 WCSA League championship in Calgary, October 1.

The third-year left fielder has shown marked improvement every year since joining the team as a walkon in their inaugural season in 2014. For the second year in a row the Maple Ridge, BC native was also on the WCSA All-Academic Team. She lef Briercrest with 33 at bats, a home run, and a triple on the year and also only struck out three times.

Briercrest had a rash of injuries and sickness go through the team to end the season, and went winless in the WCSA championship. They had strong play from their roster throughout the weekend and went to the limit in all but one game, losing 6-1 to Calgary, 8-1 to SAIT, 12-6 to Regina and 6-1 to Saskatchewan.
