Soccer travels to Millar, softball hosts Wednesday games and hockey hosts Williston

Athletics starts to hit "full systems go" this week as volleyball and soccer teams get their first taste of action and the softball and hockey teams both host home games.

Softball

The Briercrest College women’s softball team will be hosting the University of Saskatchewan Wednesday, Sept. 14 at Caribou Heights Ladies diamonds (1500 Caribou St. W) 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm. These games were re-scheduled over the weekend.

They continue their weekend by travelling to Glendive, Montana for a series of games. They will play Dawson  at 4:00 pm Friday, Sept. 16 and again at 10:00 am Saturday, Sept. 17, followed by a double header against the University of Regina at noon and 4:00 pm.

Hockey

The men's hockey team will have their first taste of home play of the season when they host Williston this weekend. Game times will be Friday. Sept 16 at 7:00 pm and Saturday, Sept. 17 at 2:00 pm.

Soccer

Soccer will be returning to Briercrest this weekend as the Briercrest soccer teams will be travelliing to Pambrun and Swift Current for the Millar Invitational Tournament this weekend, Sept. 16-17.

The men will kick off the weekend with a 1:30 pm start Friday, Sept 16 against Prairie College at Irwin Field in Swift Current. They will then have the evening off to cheer for their female counterparts before facing Saskatoon at 8:45 am Saturday, Sept 17 at Millar. They will then play in either the C-Side (1:45 pm), B-Side (3:00 pm) or A-Side finals (4:15 pm). All games on Saturday will be at Millar College of the Bible in Pambrun.

The women will begin their weekend against Prairie College at 3:00 pm Friday, Sept 16 at Irwin Field in Swift Current. They will then move to Millar College of the Bible that evening to face the host team at 6:00 pm. Saturday at 11:15 am they will end their tournament against the Millar Alumni team. All games on Saturday will be at Millar College of the Bible in Pambrun.

Volleyball

The Briercrest volleyball teams will begin their pre-season this weekend.

The Briercrest men will travel to Lakeland College Thursday, Sept 15 for a 7:00 pm start, followed by 7:30 Friday, Sept 16 at King's University College in Edmonton and then Saturday, Sept 17 at NAIT in Edmonton at 1:30 pm.

The women will be travelling to North Dakota for a series of games. They will begin their weekend with a Friday, Sept 16 7:00 pm game at Dickinson State University. They will then play Dakota College at Bottineau on Saturday, Sept 17 at 6:00 pm. They will finish off their weekend Sunday, Sept 18 at 11:00 am at Minot State University.
