Kornelsens size and athleticism adds great value to team

6’7’’ freshman post, Ben Kornelsen, came to Briercrest because he wanted to go to Bible School and Briercrest was one that offered an opportunity to play competitive sports. He was also drawn to the school because his dad, aunt, and uncle all attended in years before him.

Ben is working towards his Certificate in Biblical Studies and says that his favourite part of attending Briercrest is what he’s been able to learn about the Bible as well as the relationships he has built with people.

One of the things that the Armstrong, BC native notes as being special about the team is that there is a huge amount of potential and skill with a wide variety of players.

Ben brings size and athleticism to the young team, and plays with a strong competitive attitude.

His goals as a student-athlete are to do as well as he can in school and in basketball, while keeping God as his focus.

After Briercrest, Ben would like to learn a trade and go forward with more hands-on work.

He would like to play basketball for as long as he can.

“[Basketball] is something that I enjoy and I don’t plan to quit any time soon.”
