#10 Ethan DaSilva

Freshman point guard, Ethan DaSilva, has already made an impact in his first year on the Briercrest men’s basketball team. Family and recruitment from Briercrest brought him out here, and he has begun working towards a BA Humanities.

His goal as a student is to maintain the best GPA he can, and as an athlete, to help the team become successful in all facets of the game.

So far, Ethan’s favourite moment at Briercrest was his first ACAC basketball game against Medicine Hat.

When asked what makes the team here special, he refers to the unity of belief within the team, and says that it makes it easier to express those beliefs on and off the court.

Ethan’s greatest strengths as a player are his speed and court vision, which allow him to create scoring opportunities whenever he has the ball. He brings a strong spirit of competition to the team, encouraging communication and directing the offence in his role as point guard.

After Briercrest, the future is still hazy for Ethan, but he says he would be interested in pursuing sports broadcasting or going to play pro basketball for a number of years before returning to Canada to lead a sport based ministry for kids.
