The second semester of 2015-16 continues this weekend as the hockey team hosts MacEwan. The basketball teams travel to Olds and volleyball travels to Red Deer.

Hockey

The Briercrest hockey team hosts MacEwan University for their second last home stand of the 2015-16 season this weekend. MacEwan (8-11-3) are currently tied for the sixth and final playoff spot in the ACAC. They will play Friday, January 22 at 7:00 pm, followed by a 2:00 pm puck drop on Saturday. Briercrest fell to MacEwan last semester in Edmonton and hope to reverse the sweep this weekend. The ACAC hockey standings are very tight this season, so every game is important and has playoff ramifications.

The games will also be streamed online at acac.tv.

They will be travelling to ACAC South third place Red Deer (9-5) who are the two-time CCAA National champions and are ranked 15th in the CCAA rankings. The Briercrest men’s volleyball team (6-10) is ranked sixth in the ACAC south, and a victory over ACAC South first place and CCAA number-one ranked Red Deer (13-1) will go a long way in helping them get into the playoff picture. Women’s volleyball plays at 6:00 pm on Friday, January 22, followed by the men. Play continues on Saturday with the women at 1:00 pm and the men following.

The games will also be streamed online at acac.tv.
