Joel Rosewarn – 3rd Year - #12 – Middle Blocker - Calgary, AB -  Business Administration

Third -year Joel Rosewarn brings a sense of excitement and positive energy to the Briercrest men’s volleyball lineup. This Calgary-born native has worked hard during his time with the team and continues to impress; not only peers, but opponents with his play. There are many words that can describe this middle blocker: energetic, poised, drive and heart. Rosewarn shows all of his God-given qualities each day as he steps onto the court; he shows his energy and poise in the easiest and the hardest of circumstances, and his drive and heart start with Joel off the court and lead to further on-court success.

Rosewarn describes Briercrest as an atmosphere that is like none other.

“It is a place where you can grow in relationships [on and off the court] from the smallest of topics like sports to the more meaningful topics about faith,” he explained.

“These everlasting friendships that Rosewarn has heavily invested in are a small testament of how personable of an athlete he is,” says former men’s volleyball assistant coach Cody Quiring.

While his career at Briercrest has been relatively short, Rosewarn has many highlights, but there is one that trumps all: representing the Alberta College Athletics Conference his rookie year at the CCAA National Championships hosted by Briercrest College in Moose Jaw, SK.

“The fans are something different here at Briercrest, their excitement and their energy, it is all just so exhilarating to be a part of,” Rosewarn said.

Look for Rosewarn to turn some heads as his presence in the blue and yellow jersey continues to grow.
