Posted: July 30, 2015

Following a long line of Linden Christian School grads to become student-athletes at Briercrest College, Winnipeg, Manitoba’s Christophe Towells has committed to play basketball at Briercrest College this coming season.

The 6’ 4” small forward, who was an honour roll student during his time at Linden Christian, has already experienced quite a bit of success in his basketball career.

“I started playing in 4th grade where I played for Academy (travel team) and later on played high school basketball for St. Paul's Crusaders,” Towells explained. “My team and personal achievements include 2015 AAA Varsity Player of the Year, 2015 AAA Varsity Provincial Champion and MVP, and 2014 AAAA Varsity Provincial Champion. The highlight of my career so far would be winning the provincial championships in my senior year and doing it with all my teammates.”

Men’s basketball head coach Gradyn Childerhose is excited to have Towells come on board for this coming season.

"Christophe has an outstanding high school basketball and academic resume,” Childerhose explained. “He has led teams to championship games and has been a major part of a successful program. We are excited to have his leadership, experience, and work ethic on and off the court this year."

Towells is excited to walk on to the Briercrest campus this fall.

“I'm in the Certificate of Biblical Studies program at Briercrest and am most looking forward to getting to start playing basketball and going to class.”
