Friesen selected 2014-15 ACAC mens basketball Second-Team All-Conference Team

Brandon Friesen of the Briercrest College and Seminary men’s basketball team was selected to the 2014-15 Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference South Second Team All-Conference.

The Briercrest student was announced for the award at the annual ACAC men’s basketball All-Conference banquet held at Keyano College Wednesday, March 4, 2015.

The fifth-year post put up some amazing numbers this season, despite sitting out a good portion of the year due to injury. He ranked second in the ACAC South with 20.27 points per game (12th in total points with 304 though only playing 15 of 24 games), ninth in field goal percentage with 47.9%, 17th in free-throw percentage, first in the ACAC South with 10.53 rebounds per game (5th with 158 total rebounds), first for both offensive and defensive rebounds per game (3.20 and 7.33 respectively). He also ranked fourth in the ACAC south with 0.93 blocks per game, ranked third with 10 double-doubles (in 9 less games), had the most points in a game of any player in the south with 40 against St. Mary’s Feb. 7, while also having four of the top eight performances point wise and five of the top 20. He also had the third best game rebound wise with eighteen October 24 against St. Mary’s and three of the top eight rebound games.

Friesen will be graduating this Spring with a BA Business Administration.
