Nolan Weinmaster Honoured as 2014-15 ACAC South Womens Volleyball Coach of the Year
Edmonton, February 25, 2015 – The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference is pleased to announce that Nolan Weinmaster of the Briercrest College and Seminary Clippers has been selected as the 2014-15 ACAC South division women’s volleyball Coach of the Year.
Nolan Weinmaster is in his 9th year as head coach of the Briercrest women’s volleyball program. After a 2013-14 where he navigated the program to their best season since joining the ACAC, and being named ACAC Coach of the Year, Weinmaster has built on that success and surpassed it so far this year. After losing the ACAC Player of the Year to the CIS and two other starters from last year’s squad, he has made sure that his team hasn’t missed a beat and they have set new Briercrest bests with an 18-6 record, second place in the ACAC South and CCAA National Ranking of #5 in Canada. The season started on a strong note by handing CCAA defending champion and, CCAA number-one ranked, Red Deer College a defeat in the second weekend of the season. Weinmaster has continued to guide his young team to not peak early, but to continue to grow for bigger things ahead.
“Nolan has continued to work on his craft and has built himself into an elite volleyball coach,” Briercrest Athletic Director Nigel Mullan said. “We are very proud to have him working with our department. It is exciting to see the development of the program under his watch.”
