Basketball finishes first semester with weekday games in Caronport and Moose Jaw
Due to inclement weather last weekend the fall semester portion of the 2014-15 basketball season has been extended into December this year with Red Deer traveling to play Briercrest this weekend.

Basketball
NOTE: Due to Academic obligation and the CHS Cougar Classic, game times and location will be unique this week. Briercrest will host Red Deer in Caronport at the Margaret P. Reimer Memorial Gymnasium Thursday, Dec. 4, with the women tipping off at 6:00 pm and the men to follow at 8:00 pm. Friday, Dec. 5, teams travel in to the Saskatchewan Polytechnic - Moose Jaw (formerly SIAST) to play at 2:30 pm (women) and 4:30 pm (men).
After an unexpected two straight bye weeks the Briercrest basketball teams face Red Deer College to end the first half of the 2014-15 regular season schedule this weekend.
The men’s basketball team faces another strong challenge this weekend as they host ACAC South leading and CCAA number 12 ranked Red Deer College this weekend. Red Deer has a record of 8-2 and are ranked second in both points for and points against this season. The injury-riddles Briercrest men’s basketball team looks to gain some momentum as they end the first half of the season.
The Briercrest women’s basketball team will play host to a Red Deer squad who has an identical 0-10 record thus far this season. Both teams have similar points-for and against this season and will be looking for their first victories of the season. The Briercrest women’s basketball team looks to end the first half on a strong note to build momentum into the second semester of play.
Game times will be Thursday, December 4 at 6:00 pm for the women and 8:00 pm for the men, followed by (at Saskatchewan Polytechnic - Moose Jaw) Saturday, December 5 at 2:30 pm for the women and 4:30 pm for the men.

Hockey
The Briercrest men's hockey team finished off the first semester in Edmonton against ACAC league leading NAIT and finished the semester with a 3-14-1 record. Their next games will be exhibition games at Williston State January 2 and 3.

Volleyball
The Briercrest volleyball teams ended the first semester with sweeps of Olds College.
The women's sweep of the then CCAA 5th ranked Olds College kept Briercrest tied with Red Deer College for first in the ACAC with a record of 11-1. This also vaulted the Briercrest women's volleyball team into a program high CCAA ranking of 5th in the CCAA. This is the highest ranking that the team has reached since joining the ACAC.
The men's volleyball team's sweep of winless Olds brought them back to .500 with a record of 6-6 and keeps them within striking distance of third and fourth place SAIT and Lethbridge who have identical 7-5 records.
The volleyball teams will kick off the second semester by hosting Medicine Hat College January 9-10.
