Briercrest Athletics is excited to announce the signing of Surrey, BC pitcher Alexis Ferguson to their roster for the inaugural 2014-15 Western Collegiate Softball Association campaign.

Briercrest softball head coach Carlie Pagens is excited for what Ferguson will bring to the team this year.

“I am excited to have Alexis coming to play for us this fall,” Pagens said. “She is a hard working athlete who gives her all on the field. Alexis' dedication to the sport has allowed her to become a solid defensive player at a variety of positions. Alexis is a leader on and off the field who will add significant depth to our line-up this fall.”

Ferguson has built quite a resume of experience in lower mainland BC, first as part of the Fleetwood Fastpitch Association where she won a Provincial Championship in 2008 with the Fleetwood Fury House. Recently she has been playing ‘A’ ball with the Surrey Storm Fastpitch Association.

The 5’ 5” Ferguson has been playing softball for 13 years and is excited to move to Saskatchewan to play for Briercrest this coming year.

“I’m looking forward to meeting new people and a change of scenery for my post-secondary education,” Ferguson said. “The atmosphere that the school seems to encompass interests me and I look forward to working with new coaches and teammates.”
