Boschman brings strength, scoring and character to Briercrest basketball
Briercrest women’s basketball coach Will Con is excited to announce the signing of Brandon, Manitoba’s Brittany Boschman for the 2014-15 season.
Boschman helped lead Brandon’s Vincent Massey High School (VMHS) to the 2014 Manitoba High Schools Athletic Association (MHSAA) Provincial Championship tournament. Her team fell to Linden Christian in the first round, but she led VMHS in rebounds, had a game high two blocked shots and played a whopping 31:40 of the game.
Coach Con believes that Boschman will have an impact in several capacities at Briercrest.
“Brittany is going to be a fantastic addition to our team this upcoming year,” said Con. “I believe she will be a force on the court and an even greater person of character. I look forward to having her join Briercrest and experience what God has in store for her.”
The 5‘ 11” forward has been involved in basketball in several different avenues the last number of years.
“I have played basketball all throughout high school and have been to multiple basketball camps throughout the years,” Boschman said, “These camps include the Triple Threat Basketball Camp and Brandon University Basketball Camp.”
“The highlight of my basketball career, so far, would have to be scoring 16 or more points in several games in high school,” Boschman continued. “I was also the leading scorer of my team and received the MVP at the end of the season.”
Boschman was also named the Vincent Massey Vikings’ female athlete of the year at the conclusion of the school year.
Boschman is excited to experience the overall Briercrest experience this fall.
“What I am most looking forward to about coming to Briercrest are the people and atmosphere I will be in,” Boschman said. “I can't wait to be surrounded by loving, kind people and teammates. I am thrilled to be alongside people who want to connect and grow more with The Lord. I can't wait to learn new things and achieve even greater.”
