Cody Mitchell Quiring, 5th Year, #7, LS, Walnut Grove, BC, Business Administration w/ Marketing Major,

Fire. Intensity. Passion.

After you get a chance to watch fifth year Cody Quiring in action, you‘ll see how these are the words to describe his play.

Quiring comes to the men’s volleyball program from Walnut Grove, BC where a practice between Briercrest and Trinity Western University took place at his high school, and the process began for him to become a Clipper.  During this practice was where Coach Nigel Mullan started recruiting Cody, and coupled with the influence of his several relatives that have attended these hallowed halls of academia, it made for an easy decision to attend.

During his five years, Quiring has grown up in the program and is one of the current leaders (assistant captain). Even though he isn’t the biggest man on the floor, Cody is a strong attacker and server and is also a steady force in the passing game. His skills drew the attention of the league last year with him being recognized as an ACAC Athlete of the Week and a Second-Team All-Conference Team selection.

Quiring’s impact on the team goes much deeper than a stat sheet, as he “bleeds blue” and constantly desires to see the program grow and the team be unified. For this business management, with a marketing major, student, some of the highlights over his career are his second year at Nationals, the incredible Briercrest crowd hosting Provincials, meeting his lovely wife Carlee (Women’s Volleyball Alumnus and current assistant coach), and the amazing team unity that exists each year.

Cody is focused on seeing the team’s current goals become a reality, and with the privilege of hosting Nationals and playing in front of the best fans in the ACAC, it is going to make for an exciting finish to his career as a Clipper.

This won’t end Cody’s involvement at Briercrest, however, as #7 is planning on pursuing a sports management degree and assistant coaching with the men’s volleyball team next year.

Thanks Cody for pouring your heart into your five years here at Briercrest!!
