Women's volleyball splits against Rustlers on the road

After pulling out an exciting win in five sets on Friday, Briercrest was unable to grasp another victory on Saturday against the Lakeland Rustlers, losing to them in four.

Briercrest won Friday’s match 3-2 (24-26, 25-17, 18-25, 25-20, 15-8).

Though both teams consisted of strong attackers, Briercrest dominated the game offensively, outhitting Lakeland by 20 kills for the match.                                                                                                               

Player of the Game was Elly Wendel with one service ace, 15 digs, a team high of 21 kills, and three stuff blocks.

Briercrest lost Saturday’s match 3-1 (28-26, 25-12, 19-25, 25-22).

Starting off the first set with a tight battle, Lakeland took control of the game with smart attacks and strong defence, leading them to a win over Briercrest.

Player of the Game was Erin Anderson with six kills, two digs, one block, and a 3.0 passing percentage.

Briercrest returns home next weekend, November 22-23, 2013, to battle against the second place Grand Prairie Wolves in the Hangar.
