Volleyball

After mixed results against SAIT last weekend the Briercrest volleyball teams once again hit the road, this time to Lloydminster to face Lakeland College.

Briercrest women's volleyball has started the year strong, with a record of 4-2 and face a Lakeland team that has yet to lose this season. Lakeland currently sits in second place in the ACAC with a record of 5-0 and are ranked 13 in the CCAA rankings. Lakeland also won the ACAC and CCAA silver medals during the 2012-13 season.

Briercrest men's volleyball maintains their CCAA ranking this week, being placed at number 12 in the nation. The team has faced strong competition early on this season and look to use this weekend against Lakeland to build on their 1-5 record moving forward. Lakeland currently sits in eighth place in the ACAC with a 3-2 record.

The women open up the weekend against Lakeland Friday, Nov. 15 at 6:00 pm, followed by the men at 8:00 pm. The weekend continues on Saturday, Nov. 16 with the women playing at 1:00 pm, followed by the men at 3:00 pm.

Hockey

For the second weekend in a row the Briercrest hockey team will be travelling to Alberta for a pair of games, this time to Edmonton for their first go against Concordia this season.

With a 6-4-1 record Concordia currently sits in sixth place and holds the last playoff spot in the ACAC this season. This is an important weekend for the Briercrest hockey team as they look to make up ground in the standings with the half way point of the season quickly approaching.

Game times will be 8:15 pm on Friday, Nov. 15 and 4:30 pm Saturday, Nov. 16. Both games will be played at the Glengarry Arena (13340-85 St.).

Basketball

The Briercrest basketball teams will be enjoying the second of two straight bye weekends. This will be important as both teams are hoping to get some extra health as they look to finish the second half of the semester strong.

Last week's bye week didn't effect the men's basketball place in the CCAA rankings as they maintained their tenth place ranking for the second week in a row.
