Irwin Gordon Rodin

Irvin Gordon Rodin went to be with his Heavenly Father on June 27, 2013 at Deer Lodge Centre in Winnipeg, MB at the age of 91.
Irvin was predeceased by his parents, our Mom, Ethel Rodin, and his second wife, Nettie Goertz, two brothers and one sister. He is survived by his daughter, Elaine (Cyril) Borthistle; two sons, Gordon (Heather) Rodin and Dwight Rodin; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; three sisters, Margaret Buhler, Laura (Vernon) Erickson and Gladys Cook; Uncle Len (Doris) Backlin as well as sister's and brother's-in-law, nieces, nephews and many friends.
Dad served in the medical corps during WWII.
He graduated from Briercrest Bible College and then pastored for several years in Saskatchewan. He worked faithfully at Briercrest Bible College as a mechanic/welder and fire chief for many years.
Dad and mom were involved with The Gideons International in Moose Jaw and Abbotsford. Dad and Nettie were actively involved with the Sevenoaks Alliance Church in Abbotsford.
Dad moved to Winnipeg in 2009 to be closer to family. In the Deer Lodge Centre he was known for being a gentleman, caring about others, enjoying a good joke, being active in the Recreation activities and physio, and being the resident member of the Spiritual Care committee. He is missed by the staff and volunteers that worked with him on T4.
November 11, 2012, Dad took part in the Remembrance Day Service in Winnipeg Convention Centre and "passed the torch" to his family to carry on the torch of his faith and values.

Celebration of Dad's Life was held on Monday, July 8, 2013 at 2:00 pm in the Community Room at Sevenoaks Alliance Church, 2575 Gladwin Road, Abbotsford.
