The Briercrest College men’s basketball and volleyball are both ranked in the initial CCAA national rankings of the 2013-14 season.

Briercrest men’s basketball has been ranked as the 10th best team in the CCAA National men’s basketball rankings in the first week of rankings. After a hard fought split with CCAA eighth ranked Medicine Hat College the Briercrest men’s basketball team sits in second place in the ACAC behind the only undefeated team in the ACAC, and CCAA fourth ranked Red Deer College. After finishing the first three weekends of the 2013-14 season with a record of 4-2, and after facing two of the top four teams in the ACAC, Briercrest will have two straight bye weekends, and their next games will be November 22-23 against Grant MacEwan University and NAIT in Edmonton.

Briercrest is one of five ACAC institutions ranked in the top 15 in these CCAA rankings. After being swept by number six ranked Grant MacEwan University in the first weekend and splitting with Medicine Hat College this past weekend Briercrest will be travelling to SAIT to face the fourth ranked team in the nation November 8-9. Other ACAC institutions that have been ranked are Red Deer at number one, and Lethbridge at 11.
