Briercrest is pleased to announce that Paul Muir will be teaching THEA 221 Acting I during the October modular week, October 21-25, 2013. Muir holds a BA from the University of Alberta and an MFA from York University and is an accomplished performer and instructor. In addition, Muir studied acting at the Royal National Theatre in London, Film & Video Documentary at Winchester University (both in England) and participated in the Canadian National Voice Intensive at UBC. Muir has worked as a professional actor and director for various theatre companies across Canada and currently serves as education director and instructor in acting at the Rosebud School of the Arts (RSA), one of the premier theatre companies in Canada (see http://www.rosebudschoolofthearts.com/). The RSA has transformed the small prairie town of Rosebud, Alta. into a theatre destination that attracts over 40,000 visitors a year. The artists at Rosebud are driven by a belief that the deepest source of inspiration comes from their relationship with Jesus Christ and that the arts can be a powerful vehicle for expressing faith.

THEA 221 is designed for those with no post-secondary acting experience and promises to be an exceptionally rich experience under the tutelage of an accomplished actor and director. This course may be taken for credit or for audit.
