Gord Diggins
Gordon Cranmer Diggins’ home address has changed to Golden Streets of Heaven as a result of his passing on August 21, 2012. Born in Bingley, AB on November 30, 1926 to George & Ellen Diggins, Gordon enjoyed growing up with his best friends, David Diggins and Margaret Siemens. After a few years of working odd jobs and riding Harleys, Gordon attended Briercrest Bible Institute (BBI) where he met the love of his life, Lillian Cook. They were married in 1956. He adored, honoured and cherished her for the rest of his life. Gordon served as a plumber at BBI for 38 years during which time he raised and loved Laurel (Lloyd), Kathy (Jim), Daryl (Debbie), and Paul (Shelley). Upon retirement in 1990, they moved to Abbotsford, where they have been surrounded by beautiful communities of friends at Awana Place and Grace Bible Church for twenty one years.
Predeceased by his father, mother and tiny grandson, Mark, Gordon will be waiting to tease, hug, and have ice cream with his grandchildren - Jesse (Natasha), Jordan (Melissa), Cassidy (Dustin), Chelsey (Nathan), Lindsey, Aaron, Cody (Tenay), Becky (John), Jenny, Richard, Tristan, Karigan and great grandchildren - Skye, Ryland, Toby, Eli, Avery, Oliver, Jasper, Piper, Jaycee, Jenna, and Alexis. Gordon also leaves behind his brother Dave (Helen) and family, and sister Margaret (John) and family.
Much appreciation is felt for Dr. David Froese, Dr. James Bond, the health nurses, the nurses at Abbotsford Regional Hospital (Cheam 2) and at Christine Morrison Hospice in Mission, and especially the many friends around the world who are praying for us.
A private family burial will be held followed by a Celebration of Life Memorial on Sunday, September 9, 2012, 3:30 PM at the Golden Age Center, 203 Valleyview Drive, Caronport, SK.
Donations may be made to the Gideons or Briercrest Schools.
