Claire Richardson was selected to the 2012-13 ACAC South women’s basketball First Team All-Conference at the ACAC Awards Banquet during the first day of the 2012-13 ACAC Women’s Basketball Championships at host University of Alberta, Augustana Campus in Camrose, Alberta. ACAC All-Conference teams are selected by Conference Coaches.

Briercrest post Claire Richardson (second year; Brownfield, AB) was a force in her second year in the ACAC with a team high in points per game with 9.65 (ACAC South ninth ranked), 34 steals (14th in the ACAC South), 172 rebounds (8.60 per game and third in the ACAC South), ACAC South high of 32 blocks (1.6 per game) and 0.85 assist/turnover ratio (12th in ACAC South), and was second on the team with 0.359 field goal percentage (12th in the ACAC South), and 44 assists (10th in the ACAC South).

Richardson ranked fifth in the ACAC South with four double doubles and her 15 rebound performance against Olds College January 18, ranked fifth in the ACAC South behind Jylisa Williams and Melanie Hogue.

To say that the team co-captain had an impact on her young team and in the league this year is an understatement as she helped lead Briercrest to their best record since the 2000-01 season when they last qualified for the playoffs.
