Pair of Briercrest Athletes are Second Team ACAC All-Conference

On the first day of the 2012-13 ACAC Volleyball Championships the ACAC Awards Banquet took place at host Keyano College in Fort McMurray, Alberta and Briercrest men’s volleyball was well represented with two Second Team All-Conference Awards.

Briercrest left side Cody Quiring (fourth year; Langley, BC) and middle Josh Wendel (third year; Caronport, SK) were both selected to the 2012-13 ACAC men’s volleyball Second Team All-Conference.

Quiring was an all-around player for Briercrest this season ranking third on Briercrest and 17th in the ACAC with 179 kills, second on Briercrest and ninth in the ACAC with 27 service aces, second on Briercrest and 14th in the ACAC with 144 digs and third on the team with 25 blocks.

Wendel was a force at the net this season with a team high 30 blocks this season and fourth on Briercrest for kills and service aces with 128 and 14 respectively.

Quiring, Wendel and the rest of the ACAC fifth ranked Briercrest men’s volleyball begins their drive for an ACAC Championship tomorrow, Friday February 22, at 1:00 pm local time against fourth ranked Medicine Hat College.
