Briercrest men's basketball moves to number one ranking in the CCAA

The Briercrest men's basketball is the top ranked college team in the nation. After a weekend sweep over SAIT coupled with a Sheridan Bruins loss in the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association, Briercrest men's basketball teams finds itself at the top of the Canadian Colleges Athletic Association rankings.

The Clippers have a 17-1 record and are undefeated at home.

Briercrest has been led by a strong veteran core this season, which includes Gradyn Childerhose who is currently ranked second in the CCAA for points per game, James Wohlegeschaffen and Kendell Boese who are ranked one and two in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference in steals per game, and Matt Myers who is tied for second in the ACAC in assists per game. The team is very balanced and unselfish which is highlighted by the fact that the fourth and fifth ranked players in the ACAC for assists are Caleb Klassen and Boese.

Head coach Rod Adrian is thankful for what his team has accomplished so far this season.

"I’m thankful for the men on our team and for the recognition of being ranked number one in the CCAA," Adrian said. "There are some great leaders on our team and a brotherhood that is unmatched. We're thankful to The Lord for His blessings in team, health, and an opportunity to be His ambassadors. .”

Briercrest's greatest test was against Red Deer College, who sat second in the ACAC with a 12-2 record and a CCAA ranking of third. The Clippers swept both games …
