Briercrest women’s volleyball will be hosting the Shanghai Youth Women’s volleyball team Monday, December 3, 2012.

The theme of the tour is to expand a positive cultural sporting experience and relationship through the sport of volleyball.

Women’s volleyball head coach Nolan Weinmaster is excited for this opportunity.

“Our women’s volleyball team has the rare opportunity to host an international volleyball match on our campus,” Weinmaster said. “There is club team from Shanghai travelling here in December and they have asked for the opportunity to play a match against our college team. This is a great opportunity for our school to host a team from China and we are really excited about it!”

Warm-up will begin at 6:00 pm and game-time is 7:00 pm. Attendance to the game is free.

A women’s team from the Shanghai Sports Institute travels to Saskatchewan to play a series of 10 games from November 30 to December 7 in high schools in Outlook, Assiniboia, Warman and La Loche, as well as against teams in Briercrest College, Lakeland College and the University of Saskatchewan.
