Volleyball

Briercrest volleyball hosts the University of Alberta, Augustana Vikings this weekend at the Margaret P. Reimer Memorial Gymnasium. It is sure to be an exciting weekend of volleyball with a loud and full crowd. The Briercrest women will be looking to get back into the win column after losing to a strong Lakeland side, while the Briercrest men will be looking to continue building momentum after an encouraging weekend sweep of Lakeland. The women will lead off competition both days, Friday, Nov. 9 at 6:00 pm followed by the men at 8:00 pm, and Saturday, Nov. 10 at 1:00 pm followed by the men at 3:00 pm.

Hockey

Hockey will be traveling to Edmonton this weekend to play the Concordia University College of Alberta Thunder in the fifth weekend of ACAC competition. After hosting Portage and holding the opposition to the least goals against of the season on Friday and then scoring the most goals in a game this season on Saturday, the hockey team is looking to combine those two games this weekend in order to get some points in the standings. Concordia currently sits in the last playoff spot, six points ahead of Briercrest, so this weekend is a key matchup in this young season. Game times are 7:30 pm on Friday, Nov. 9 at the Terwillegar Arena and 2:00 pm Saturday, Nov. 10 at Confederation Arena.

Basketball

Briercrest College basketball will be embarking on the second longest road trip of the season this weekend traveling to Fort McMurray and Edmonton for the third weekend of the ACAC season. They will first travel to play the Keyano College Huskies Friday, Nov. 9, followed by games against the Concordia University College of Alberta Thunder Saturday, Nov. 10.This will be an important weekend as the women look to get into the win column against a tough Keyano team that hasn't lost a game yet and a 1-2 Concordia, while the men hope to keep their winning streak alive against a top four ACAC team in Keyano and a Concordia team looking to get back to .500 on the season. The women play 6:00 pm each night, followed by the men at 8:00 pm.
