Donna Anne (Pardun) Proian 1950-1981

Donna grew up in Estevan, Saskatchewan.  Since a child, she was committed to the Christian way of life.  She was active in her church, The Estevan Gospel Chapel where she sang in the choir, played the organ, and attended Pioneer Girls.  Summers were spent at Bible camp.  As an accomplished pianist and organist, she shared her gift of music in the community playing for weddings.  She was also a talented seamstress and created her own wedding gown.  Donna always wanted to attend Caronport High School and took her grade 12 at CHS.  She was a dorm hall supervisor and sang in the high school choir.  For her yearbook scripture passage, she chose “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” (Phil. 4:13).  In 1969, she graduated from CHS and then continued her education at the University of Regina and Paris Sorbonne University.  While attending the Sorbonne University, she met her future husband, Charles Proian, a divinity student.  Charles attended university in Regina and Kingston while Donna did office work.  Their careers took them to Toronto where Donna was a secretary to the assistant dean of arts and science at the University of Toronto.  Her friendliness, warm personality, sense of humour, and spark for life drew friends around her wherever she went.

Friends are gathering in September 2012 to celebrate her life.  If you would like to attend, contact Glynis at 1-780-439-1330.  A memorial fund has been established to donate to Briercrest College and Seminary new beautiful blue velvet stage curtains for The Landing -- a fitting legacy to remember her musical talents, sewing skills, and love for Christ.  Donations may be made online at www.briercrest.ca.  To designate your gift, click “other.”  In the comments section, type “Donna Proian memorial.”
