Unfazed, Briercrest continued to surge ahead, relaxed and confident, reaching 22-17 before NAIT called another time out. The remaining points came quick and Briercrest claimed the first set, 25-18.

Briercrest took early command of the second set, gaining a comfortable 9-4 lead before NAIT called a time out. They came out closing in on the Clippers 15-15. NAIT enjoyed a short 17-16 lead before Elly Wendel’s serving reignited the earlier momentum, bringing Briercrest back into the lead 20-17. NAIT came back swinging but Briercrest made some incredible saves and a huge block by Wendel and Erin Anderson drew the set to a close, 25-21.

The third set was the most tight set yet, Briercrest and NAIT matching one another point for point until 14-14, when NAIT started to pull away 17-14. Briercrest called a time out after giving up four consecutive points and down 16-19, came back 20-20. The fight for the final few points was close, Briercrest up 24-22, when NAIT overtook them 26-25. Samantha Zacharias’s kill brought them 27-27 even, and a service ace following from Zacharias brought the Clippers one point shy of the game. A NAIT error gave Briercrest the set-winning point, 27-25.
