A Nashville Connection

A Nashville Connection

I recently finished recording an EP down in Nashville and had two great Briercrest alumni co-write and produce the album. I graduated in '08 and have been serving in worship at the Evangelical Free Church of Lethbridge (with Ken Dosso and lots of other Briercrest people) since graduation. I've always had a passion for well written worship music that serves the church well, and decided that it was time for me to work on a project. I contacted Ben Reynolds who I got to know at Briercrest when he produced the Elevate albums and who is now living in Nashville and working at a church as well being involved in various parts of the music industry. We chatted about what the project could be, and decided to ask Jason Germain (of Downhere, and of course Briercrest) to co-produce the album with Ben. After a trip down in January of 2012, another week in August, and many e mails and phone calls, everything was completed in late November. We're all proud of the end result, which I titled in a rather self explanatory way, [songs for singing]. I pray that it will serve the church well as a singable, musically compelling and theologically sound set of songs. Briercrest certainly was a significant part of all of our journeys and I know that it has helped shaped me and these songs in a very profound way. (the album can be heard on iTunes, and you can keep up with me and my various thoughts on worship leadership in Canada at www.davesiverns.com Also feel free to edit any of this if there's a better or shorter way of saying it...)
