Marketing Coordinator Alumni/Development - Full-Time
JOB SUMMARY
The Marketing Department is dedicated to engaging all external audiences of Briercrest in a way that builds trust in the brand's mission and values. The primary goal of this department is to connect external people to what God is doing on this campus.
This position will focus on campaign management, audience understanding, and content creation for social media and department websites. This candidate will create advertising campaigns and provide regular reporting for leadership. Ultimately, this person will cohesively manage the Briercrest brand to achieve the assigned department marketing goals.
Note* This is an on-campus full-time position.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Agreement to adhere to the Briercrest Institutional Covenant Agreement and alignment with the mission, vision, and values of Briercrest Christian Academy, College, and Seminary.
- A passionate supporter of the education and community experience offered by Briercrest.
- Prior experience as a social media manager for a corporate or non-profit brand.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, English, Communications, or related discipline.
- Excellent copywriting and editing skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in social media management and social listening tools.
- The ability to work both collaboratively and independently, taking initiative and demonstrating a willingness to take risks.
- Thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment of change with a high-volume workload, often requiring short turnaround times.
- Excellent time management skills with an ability to juggle multiple priorities.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be a strong team player.
- Able to manage projects and carry them to completion.
- Careful attention to detail.
- Experience in copywriting or graphic design is a definite asset.
- Familiarity with BCS would also be advantageous.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Campaign Development and Management:
- Develop campaigns that will increase traffic, engagement and action taken by target audiences to accomplish department growth goals.
- Build and manage campaigns with assigned department leaders.
- Generate, edit, publish, and share engaging content to achieve those goals (e.g. original text, photos, videos, and news).
- Collaborate with the marketing team's creative personnel and department leaders to complete campaigns from concept to final rollout.
- Suggest and implement new features to develop brand awareness, like promotions and competitions.

3. Audience Understanding:
- Become an expert in the department audience.
- Learn from department staff members.
- Learn from external research trends, values, behaviours and preferences.
4. Social Media Management:
- Manage department Social Media account.
- Schedule and manage a social media calendar, remaining flexible for posting opportunities with a priority going to posts that help achieve established department goals.
- Help to curate a social media brand aesthetic that is visually appealing and brand-consistent.
- Listen to, respond to, and engage with audiences across Seminary channels.
5. Web Copy:
- Routinely audit department website copy.
- Update and maintain web copy to be current.
- Add new initiatives in a timely manner.
- Ensure brand values and voice are displayed through department web pages.
6. Reporting
- Generate monthly reports for marketing and assigned department leaders.
- Analyze performance metrics based on established key performance indicators.
7. Ongoing Projects
- Managing and completing the Annual Report
- Planning and Hosting Alumni events
- Giving Day
- Oversee Graduation Photos for College, BCA.
- Alumni Email Communication
- Actively support and promote the Briercrest College & Seminary vision and mission.
- To work with the Director of Development to produce a minimum of 4 development newsletters per year, an annual report and other campaign materials as needed (e.g. Giving Day)
- To produce 4-6 alumni newsletters annually that keep our alumni up to-date and informed.
- To be the lead contact for reunion groups alumnus of the year
- To maintain and update alumni files in BEAM
- Assist with Development dept. Duties and functions (mail-outs, prayer times, card writing)
- Participate (when financially and practically feasible) in alumni events off campus and liaison with other departments (athletics, academic services, events) when alumni events are happening on campus.
8. Administrative Responsibilities
- Manage the internal ticketing inbox/communications email.
- Business Cards/Name Tags/Door signs
- Institutional Signage
- Taking Faculty Studio Headshots every two years.
- Grad Composites.
- Supervising Student Workers
- Taking photos to create relevant, high-quality imagery for web, social, and print.
TEAM RELATIONSHIPS / OTHER
- Reports to the Director of Marketing
- Oversight and training available from Vice-President of External Relations
- Direction to be given received from the Director of Development
- Support to be given by the Director of Marketing
