India Extension Site
“The one land that all men desire to see and having seen once, by even a glimpse, would not give that glimpse for all the shows of all the rest of the globe combined.”
-Mark Twain
In Secunderabad, the fifth-largest metropolitan area in India, Briercrest Seminary runs an extension site in partnership with Operation Mobilization at the Asian College of Cultural Studies. While there, students can complete an M.A. Leadership and Management or take classes for credit toward other Briercrest Seminary degrees.
India is a land rich in colour, culture, history, and beauty. The “twin cities” of Hyderabad and Secunderabad are among the fastest growing in India with a combined population of over 4 million.
Courses at the extension site are offered once a year in three-week blocks. Students learn alongside Christians from India and surrounding countries who often face persecution for their faith. This cross-cultural experience is invaluable for students who wish to broaden their perspective of “global” Christianity or pursue full-time work in a foreign country.

Students may receive scholarships for up to three Briercrest courses at the ICCS. After accounting for travel expenses, this means that taking three courses in India costs about the same as taking three courses in Canada! Application for study at the ICCS must be made to the registrar’s office by the September that precedes the January course term.
Courses run once a year in three-week blocks. Given the extremely low cost of tuition and food and lodging, students need only take three courses to break even--an incredible value for an experience that will likely shape the rest of your life!
“A person who misses a chance and the monkey who misses its branch can’t be saved.”
–Indian Proverb
“The sessions at the extension site in India were invaluable. They combined solid teaching with real-life exposure to a vastly different mindset and way of life. For those who are considering missions, but have not been able to spend any time outside North America, taking a modular course at the Briercrest program in India offers a unique opportunity that should not be missed.”
