Admissions Requirements

Below you will find all of the criteria that are required for acceptance into Briercrest Seminary.

Regular Application

  • Possession of a 4 year undergraduate degree from an accredited academic institution.

  • Be able to provide a statement of faith in Jesus Christ.

  • Commitment to live by biblical standards and according to the code of conduct and guidelines of Briercrest College and Seminary.

  • Successfull completion of the application portfolio including (the required forms can be accessed here):

    • Form A
    • Form B
    • Form C
    • The Outcomes Assessment Essay
    • Official undergraduate transcript(s)
    • Any other transcripts from undergraduate or graduate schools previously attended.

Christian Experience

Briercrest College and Seminary is committed to equipping individuals with the skills and convictions necessary for Christian life and ministry. Applicants must genuinely testify to their personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord and further evidence this commitment to Him. Applicants must also possess a reputable character, academic ability, and a capacity for ministry.

Academic Requirements

Students entering a seminary program at Briercrest must have completed an accredited four-year baccalaureate degree. If this prerequisite is not in place, students must:

  • Demonstrate that their undergraduate work is the equivalent of a baccalaureate degree (minimum of 100 credit hours with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher). 

  • Or in certain cases, the applicant may be permitted to complete the Certificate of the Seminary. Upon completion of the Certificate the student will be permitted to re-apply to their program of choice. 

Mature Student Status

Applicants without a previous undergraduate degree may be considered for entrance into the Certificate of the Seminary program. Upon successful completion of the Certificate program, the student will be permitted to re-apply to their desired program and may be admitted as a mature student with a Bachelor's equivalent.

International Students

The international student must:

  • Meet all the criteria for regular admission (above).

  • Deposit all the funds required for one year of study (tuition + living expenses) plus $2500.00 (per family member) return airfare into their Briercrest student account.

  • Meet our English Language Requirements for admission.

  • Submit official transcripts that have been translated into English (if necessary).
