Biography

Born in Rockford, IL, U.S.A., Mark spent his youth there except for two years when his family moved to Ulricehamn, Sweden. After graduating from college, Mark worked as a cost accountant in his hometown of Rockford for 4 years before returning to graduate school. Upon completing his graduate education, Mark has taught economics, finance, and statistics at several American liberal arts colleges. Briercrest is his first foray into teaching in Canada and he is looking forward to the challenge and adventure of this opportunity.

Dr. Ahlseen has always attempted to instill biblical principles into his teaching. His life’s vocation Bible verse is Isaiah 33:22: “For the Lord is our judge, the Lord is lawgiver, the Lord is our king; it is He who will save us!”
