Briercrest Benefits

Academic

Relevance
Education at Briercrest College and Seminary is designed to prepare students for life. Classes in Bible and theology, arts and science, and Christian ministry accomplish several things in the life of a student, including...

  • helping students to understand the world from a Christian perspective
  • establishing students in biblical truth
  • grounding their learning in life as a member of the body of Christ

Your son or daughter will take far more arts and science courses than they would at a typical Bible college. They will also take far more Bible and theology and Christian ministry courses than they would at a university or university-college.

This blend of Bible and theology, arts and science, and Christian ministry is unique and, we believe, well-suited to preparing thoughtful leaders who are aware of current issues and capable of evaluating them within a framework of historic Christian and biblical thought.

Briercrest College and Seminary provides first-rate education with academically rigorous courses, highly educated and credentialed faculty, modern facilities, and a Christian community that supports students in their educational endeavours.

Spiritual

At Briercrest College and Seminary, students find a community and classroom experience that encourage them to become thoughtful disciples of Jesus Christ. We challenge students to make that process central to their academic endeavours, and we invite them to a way of living and thinking that encompasses all that they do. By consecrating their hearts and minds to Jesus during their experience at Briercrest College and Seminary, students start on a path that leads to surrender to Jesus in everything.

Our approach is multifaceted:

Classes
Classes are an integral part of the mission and ministry of Briercrest College and Seminary. Our curriculum is designed to model and facilitate a theological approach to learning where students and teachers view their studies and their effort to comprehend them within a holistic Christian world view.

Faculty Members
Our faculty members lead our students in a learning community that is shaped by a common evangelical heritage, dedicated to the love of God and others, and committed to the integration of truth across academic disciplines and in life.

Student Development
Briercrest College and Seminary’s Student Development staff members are among the most experienced in their field in Canada. They complement our academic vision by guiding students’ personal and spiritual development outside of the classroom.

Community
Members of our schools form a community of learners who seek to motivate each other to increasingly deeper levels of discipleship. Students, staff, and faculty participate in this calling together.

Writing Centre
We have a Writing Centre where students can get much-needed help with the paper-writing process. Friday mornings from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the library, a senior student offers the following services:

  • peer consultation on papers
  • help with any research and writing queries
  • writing a thesis statement to spelling the professor's name correctly
  • help with any other aspect of the writing process
