Mission, Vision, Values
MISSION STATEMENT: What is our core purpose?
Caronport High School provides young people with a road for spiritual, personal, and academic progress that is based on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.
VISION STATEMENT: What is our ultimate hope for our students?
God's kingdom will be continually served by the scholarship, character, worship, and play of those who have come to know the love of Christ and his family through their experience at Caronport High School.
SCRIPTURAL FOUNDATION: What is the basis of our values?
"'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind ... Love your neighbor as yourself.' " (Matthew 22:37, NIV)
MANDATE: What is our objective as a body of learning?
At CHS, we value each student as an individual and as part of a community. We seek to recognize and to develop all aspects of their personhood with excellence according to God's highest purpose for their hearts, souls, and minds.
MODUS OPERANDI: How will we enact our Scripture-driven values and objectives?
-
"Love the Lord your God with all your soul ... ":
As a community of believers, we create a spiritually nurturing environment for students and call them to explore and to deepen their personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
- "Love the Lord your God with all your mind ... ":
As a community of learners, we challenge all students to develop an attitude of excellence towards their studies in order to prepare them to be lifelong learners in their sphere of influence.
- "Love the Lord your God with all your heart ... Love your neighbor as yourself":
As a community of citizens, we encourage students to participate in a variety of extra-curricular, intramural, and service activities designed to develop them as well-rounded citizens of our world.
Vision Rationale:
- There is no higher calling than to love God and serve his kingdom. The ultimate point of our existence is to join ourselves and our wills to the work of God in his creation.
- The ideal is for students and staff to serve Christ not only while being a member of the CHS community, but to continue on in that world view as alumni wherever they may go.
- It is important to understand that every aspect of our lives (from praying to playing) should be for the glory of God and be seen as a potential contribution to his kingdom.
- The only way Christians can continue making a fruitful contribution to God's kingdom when they leave CHS is for them to be connected with other believers.
- The only way they will seek out other Christians when they leave CHS is if the love of Christ, the fellowship of his church, and the leading of the Holy Spirit are so attractive here that they do not want to ever be without such an experience in the future.
CARONPORT HIGH SCHOOL CORE VALUES
- We aspire to be a community of lifelong learners with the Bible as our ultimate guide where every member is a disciple of Jesus Christ who is growing in commitment to him and love for God and others.
- We want to provide a safe, secure, family-type environment where students can feel a sense of belonging, enjoy relief from the barrage of harmful influences, and, if necessary, find rest from a troubled past.
- We endeavour to meet the needs of all students where they are academically and spiritually, and to carefully nurture them toward excellence and their full potential in Christ.
- We encourage students to pursue a wide variety of God-honouring activities in order to experience good, wholesome fun and to discover all the gifts that God has given them.
- We that believe Caronport High School, as well as the kingdom of God, is best served by Christian leadership that is both servant-hearted and team-based.
