Baltimore, Maryland’s Keon Bennett brings maturity and speed to the Briercrest back court as he moves across the border to play in Canada this fall.

The 6’ 1” guard has experienced success at every level. After graduating from Woodlawn High School in 2008, he attended Southwest Academy Prep for a year, where he averaged 16 points, eight rebounds and two steals a game while playing a very competitive regular season schedule against some of the elite junior colleges and Post-Graduate/Prep Schools in North America.

After his year at Southwest Academy, Bennett attended Laramie County Community College before transferring to Grays Harbor College for the 2010-11 season. He averaged 15 points, five rebounds and two steals while at Grace Harbor. His year was highlighted by a breakout game of 30 points and five steals against a high level college team.

Briercrest head coach Rod Adrian is excited for what Bennett will bring to the team this fall.

“Keon comes to Briercrest with solid college experience in the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges (NWAACC), and will bring maturity, leadership, and a strong desire to win,” Adrian explained. “Lighting quick with the ball, and eager to attack, Keon will be a great addition to our fast paced style.  I’m really excited to have Keon come to Canada to play, learn, and grow as a man.  I have high expectations for him, and so does he, which will make for a perfect fit.”

Bennett is excited to bring his skills across the border to Briercrest this fall.

“I’m looking forward to being coached by Rod Adrian and graduating from Briercrest with a great GPA,” he explains.
