Briercrest women's volleyball lost to Grande Prairie Regional College in their season opener 3-1 (25-19,23-25,25-15,25-19).

"We played a very strong 2nd set, but the other 3 were inconsistent," said Briercrest coach Nolan Weinmaster. "Starlet Peterson had a great game to earn player of the game honors. She attacked very well and had 10 kills and only one hitting error in the match, with a hitting percentage of 36%."
