General Application

Admissions Steps: 

Step 1 

Fill out the online  Form A and pay the $50 application fee. After you complete this portion your application will be officially started. You should be contacted within 1-2 business days by a member of our Admissions team. If you are applying as an International Student go here.

Step 2

Fill out the online Form B. This can be done immediately after you have completed the Form A.

Step 3

Request your High School Transcripts.
Students who are applying and still completing their grade 12 year should also do this but should request them only after they have completed their first semester of grade 12. After a student has graduated from High School he/she should contact their Provincial Ministry of Education (see links below) to request that their Final High School Transcript be sent to Briercrest College and Seminary (See contact information below).* 

*Faxed or emailed copies of High School transcripts will not be accepted as official copies. 

Step 4

Fill out Form C. Your reference should be someone who has known you for at least 6 months, further instructions can be found on the form. Be sure to fill out and sign the waiver at the top of the form before it is sent to us.

When you complete steps 1-4, you're admissions adviser will review your application and contact you with a decision within 5 business days.

Kaléo Program

Kaléo Program Admissions Steps:

Step 1:

Upon completion of steps 1-5, your application will be compiled and forwarded to the Kaléo Program Coordinator at Camp Qwanoes, Andrew MacDonald.  He will review your application and contact you to schedule a interview within 5-10 business days of recieving your completed application.

Applied Linguistics: TESOL

Admissions Steps: 

Step 1

Step 2

Fill out the online Form B. This can be done immediately after you have completed the Form A.

Step 4

Step 5

After Forms A, B, C and your High School transcript are submitted, you will be asked to complete the Applied Linguistics: TESOL program specific portion of the application, this includes:

  • Language Assessment Test (LAT)
  • Application Essay

You will be given access to the insrtructions for each of these by your Admissions Adviser and you can contact him or her with any specific questions.

Step 6

When the LAT and Application Essay are completed you will be contacted to schedule an interview with the program coordinator of the Applied Linguistics: TESOL program. 

After the interview you will be contacted by the program coordinator who will inform you of your status.

Education

Step 5

The following documents need to be submitted as part of the application portfolio. Minot State University requires these forms in hard copy format. An admissions adviser will collect these forms and provide them to Academic Services at the end of the application season. 

You can fill out the form at any time and either mail or email it to your admissions adviser. You can contact your admissions adviser for further insructions or if you have any questions regarding the completion of these additional items. You'll find contact information below.

Step 6

After all your application portfolio is complete (including: $50 Application fee, Form A, Form B, Form C, High School transcript, criminal record check, and MSU Application form), it will be reviewed by your admissions adviser and then forwarded to Academic Services for a second level of review. This second review is done to determine the applicants suitability for the Education program.

Please note:  

  • A grade of 70% or higher in a grade 12 English course is required for admission into the BA/BSE Concurrent program.
  • Though not an admissions requirements, we strongly encourage students considering this program to take a grade 12 Math class in order to be better prepared for the Math and Science courses which will be taken at MSU.

Step 7

After the second level of review is complete, your admissions adviser will contact you.  He or she will inform you of two things:

  • Whether your application has been accepted into Briercrest College.
  • Whether your application has been accepted into the BA/BSE Concurrent degree.

In the event that an applicant is not accepted into the BA/BSE program but is accepted into the College, that student will have the oppertunity to re-apply to the Education program in the following year. 

What if I am accepted into the BA/BSE program?

Once accepted into the program, the student must maintain an average GPA of 2.5. in addition, the student must recievea minimum average GPA of 2.5 in the following college courses:

  • ENG100
  • ENG 101
  • COMM 104 

If a student fails to maintain these grades, Academic Services will be in contact with the student.

Looking to take a class?

Prospective students who are interested in just taking one or two courses at Briercrest and do not desire to complete a degree can be admitted under our "special student" status. 

To apply for this status you only need to complete the Form A and pay the $50 application fee. And Admissions Adviser will be in contact with you on receipt of the Form A regarding next steps.
