2819 Mission Conference Briercrest's Mission Conference

2819 exposes us to the good work our LORD is doing in our world today and the opportunities that we have to join in that work. It is a time to individually and collectively embrace the mission of the church and our responsibility to join in what the LORD can do with our crucified lives.

Seminar Speaker: Marie EnsMarie's picture.JPG

Marie first went to Cambodia in 1961 with her husband Norman and two children, David who was 3 and Shelly who was 1 year old.  They spent one term in Cambodia in church planting.  During that term two more children, Doug and Rod, were added to the family.

Because of the political situation they were reassigned to Thailand.  In 1971 it was possible for them to return to Cambodia where they served during those war years until 6 weeks before the country fell to the communists in April 1975.

After a short term being pastor of an Alliance church in Rosthern Sask. They again relocated, this time to Paris where Norman became the pastor of the Cambodian refugee church.  After Norm's death in 1991, Marie returned to Cambodia in 1994 to serve with the Christian and Missionary Alliance until her retirement in 2000.

Since then she has been in Cambodia in an independent retired capacity working with a Cambodian NGO called Rescue.  Rescue's main projects are ministry at Preah Khet Melea military hospital and Place of Rescue which is a small community of houses for families living with AIDS.  Marie is a field worker associated with Samaritan's Purse who also supports some of her projects.

Marie will be speaking in the Friday Seminar Session as listed below:

Friday, September 28
9:00am - 10:00am Resccuing Those Without Hope S113
